Dick Van Dyke was born December 13, 1925. Of his many talents, he is best known for his work in Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Dick Van Dyke Show, and Diagnosis: Murder. Dick after staring as a comedian in Atlanta and New Orleans, signed with CBS to host a show called The CBS Cartoon Theater. He left CBS to act on Broadway and won a Tony Award for his work in the musical Bye Bye Birdie. After winning the Tony Award, Carl Reiner casted him as the role of Rob Petrie on the Dick Van Dyke show.
